Our math, transparently: Electricity is figured at $0.17/kWh, the U.S. residential average (EIA, 2026), using each model's real heater wattage x 45-minute sessions x 4 sessions per week. Your local rate and usage will vary. For 240V models we add a one-time $600 estimate for the electrician to run a dedicated circuit (Angi, 2026); a long panel run can cost more. Affirm financing is estimated at ~10% APR over 36 months, your rate may differ. The spa comparison uses your own slider inputs; the gym comparison uses $150/mo for a sauna-equipped facility. Maintenance is minimal in the first 5 years and not included. Resale value and the home-value bump are not counted in savings, they're a bonus.
The cold plunge total reflects the tub only. It ships without a heater, and the optional chiller and its electricity are sold separately, so we show $0 running cost here.
